Stuart and Helen are tenants of the Duchy of Cornwall based at Longmoor Farm in Gillingham, Dorset. The farm covers 125ha and 240 cows are milked twice daily, averaging 11,447 litres annually, with milk from forage making up 4,300 litres. Rotational grazing is employed with the cows at grass for a minimum of 183 days to satisfy their milk contract. Stuart and Helen have embraced agroforestry to support their cattle and enhance biodiversity. By integrating tree planting for shelter, forage, and shade, Stuart and Helen are optimising farm productivity and boosting environmental benefits.
